conversational drift, informatic license, NQPAOFU: notes, quotes, provocations and other fair use
are best bits from correspondencies, attendancies and collected hard copy, by Dutch artist/curator Jouke Kleerebezem, currently living in and rambling from Le Moulin du Merle, aka. the Villa du Moulin, built 1849-1853, in St.Germain-des-Bois in the Burgundy French heartland.
Following you will find the information (some of it awaiting implementation elsewhere on the site) to guide your curiosity after these notes > in just the right direction. Thank you for your time and attention—we owe you, stay posted.

art under information
NQPAOFU's map is its territory. Which has a consequence for the next paragraph, that I do not want to follow through yet. I like > my September 15 1999 suggestions for contemporary competence for 'the arts', bearing upon new media and technologies. This site writes its own mission in the making. Finally there is this moment in time, with emerging technologies and publishing opportunities and 'wild' constituencies gathering around experimental formats, which once more pushes the envelope of cultural expression and production. Whatever we will make of the arts, whichever new labels will be invented, our hopes are here. Nough said for the moment. > Back to where it is happening.

Dictionary
Wordplay, neology, idiosyncracy, inventio and malapropism, it's all in the NQPAOFU deal. Acronymisms of sorts, the occasional catachresis... you name it. The dictionary will shed some light, some day. Stay posted.

NQPAOFU Platinum
Disclaimer: the family that plays together, stays together. Which goes for all heavy metal below. NQPAOFU is the relevant denominator. 'Some people have a life, others, like me, have a weblog', who ever said that was right, to an important degree. The platinum is the NQPAOFU conditio sine qua non, after which, apart from life, here they follow:

R+r
Rolf and Roemer, kid brothers and our sons Rolf (big R, the elder) and Roemer (little r, the younger). Since we moved to middleofnowhere France early 1999 they make a great team.
Rolf
Rolf Indah Jot Kleerebezem (RIJK, Dutch for 'rich' and a common first name) in full, born 17 July 1993: perfectionist (rolf@lemoulindumerle.com).
Roemer
Roemer Indah Pieter Kleerebezem (RIPK, like in Rip Kirby) in full, born 29 December 1995: daredevil (roemer@lemoulindumerle.com).
G., Gil, Gilberthe
Gilberthe Akkermans, my partner in life since 1978, mother of R+r and co-proprietor of the > Moulin du Merle; > leather bag and fashion accessory designer (gilberthe-akkermans@lemoulindumerle.com).
Moi
Jouke Kleerebezem, owner of > nqpaofu.com, idie.net and author of > NQPAOFU since 22 March 1998; father of R+r and co-proprietor of the > Moulin du Merle; artist/curator (jk@lemoulindumerle.com)
P., Paul
Paul Perry, long time friend and artist. Canadian with Anglo-Indian roots. Thriving expatriare in the Netherlands since 1982. Current stronghold: > Alamut. Current foothold: curriculum writing.

NQPAOFU Gold
It's the gold that shines in the dark. Either as the ideal recipient, or as a source of inspiration (or competition), they are to follow, in order of NQPAOFU appearance, since March 1998. Some who spring to mind immediately, for different reasons, including hating their guts (eg. of a persistent off-line presence), are Andrea Blum, Joke Robaard, Q.S. Serafijn, Kristi van Riet, John Thackara, Michael Samyn...

NQPAOFU Brass
This would be the longer list of people who regularly appear to me, some of them I've never met, some I haven't seen since a long time. It's the (dreamed) readership, with (again) contrasting elements. This will take some time.

What's next?
Volume. Keeping NQPAOFU rolling. There's one next of improvement and refinement, and communication, where still the best is yet to be developed; then there's the other next of acquisition, and there's a combination of the two. Following soon (certainly pushing since I changed ADSL for 1.7 hectares of the face of the earth), are powerfully competing nexts, like growing enclaves and estates, dirty fingernails et al, the perversion of real life, material reality; and for something completely different, eventually there's competing work, preferably without the jobs (never realized the guy has a dubious second name).

Le Moulin du Merle
This new foothold is the main reason for a dear shift in attention for NQPAOFU. > Since here we find ourselves. ('You find yourself in/at'... used to be my favorite line in all muds/moos. Again I wonder what has become of their attraction). Contrasts between the network and the wetwork will not get any bigger than where we are today. But where les extrèmes se touchent: has always been my home.
